An animal that is good to have in the home and that is enjoyable is a parrot. Not only are the nice to look at but you can also enjoy playing and talking to them for long periods of time.
Many people opt for dogs and cats instead of birds but quite often they don’t really consider getting a bird. And the truth is that quite often they are more interesting than a dog or cat.
That being said, it isn’t so simple as just throwing the parrot in a cage and walking away. You will have to work to give it a very happy life with health.
Something to consider is if you have a large enough room or area in a room for the parrot. If you choose a large parrot you will need more room but even a small one requires some room to move around in.
Bear in mind that your other pets might be interested in making the parrot pet food so you will want to keep it somewhere safe. Also sometimes little kids can get too close and get into trouble.
Parrots can make messes and you will be responsible for cleaning it up because they don’t clean up after themselves. So be aware that you will have to do these jobs.
And once you bring your parrot home your job is not over with. You will have to make time to give your parrot the attention that it needs and deserves.
Many people with parrots really enjoy having them but there are also duties that come with the territory. Be prepared for what you must do before you make the decision to get one.
But after you work these things out you can start picking one out that meets your needs. Then you can have fun with your new parrot.
